History of Burger King

Florida, USA is the birthplace of the global fast-food restaurant company Burger King. Keith Kramer

and Matthew Burns launched the brand as Insta-Burger King in Jacksonville in 1953. The original

McDonald brothers' business in San Bernardino, California, served as inspiration for them. The

chain was purchased by James W. McLamore and David Edgerton in 1954, and they gave it the

new moniker Burger King. After obtaining a franchise license, McLamore and Edgerton established

their first Insta-Burger King facility on December 4, 1954, at 3090 NW 36th Street in Miami.
